ByteEd Unplugged Computational Thinking Resource: Pied Piper of Hamelin theme Students work though hands on activities to create sequential algorithms to direct ByteEd Piper through the town of Hamelin, collecting rats to take to the river! Students are introduced to Computational Thinking concepts of: Sequencial instructions Algorithms Decomposition, and, Debugging Differentiated tasks for each activity - creating algorithms for the most efficient and fastest route, Collecting the rats (not the children- they are obstacles to avoid!) and take them to the river. Included in the resource: Teaching Overview - fully explained activities Downloads - all printables needed for the activities. ByteEd Unplugged Computational Thinking Resource: Hansel & Gretel theme Students work though hands on activities to create sequential algorithms to direct ByteEd Hansel & Gretel through the woods to escape the witch! Students are introduced to Computational Thinking concepts of: Sequencial instructions Algorithms Decomposition, and, Debugging Differentiated tasks for each activity - creating algorithms for the most efficient and fastest route, Collecting sweet treats (while staying away from the witch, the cauldron & the witches cat - they are obstacles to avoid!) and taking them home to their log cabin. Included in the resource: Teaching Overview - fully explained activities Downloads - all printables needed for the activities. ByteEd Unplugged Computational Thinking Resource: Jack & the beanstalk theme Updated July 2023! Students work though hands on activities to create sequential algorithms to direct ByteEd Jack to escape from the Giant’s castle to his home safely! Students are introduced to Computational Thinking concepts of: Sequencial instructions Algorithms Decomposition, and, Debugging Differentiated tasks for each activity - creating algorithms for the most efficient and fastest route, Collecting the Giant’s treasure (musical harp, hen that lays golden eggs & gold) or/and magic beans on the way through the beanstalk. Included in the resource: Teaching Overview - fully explained activities Downloads - all printables needed for the activities.
